Markings: On inside rim of box: 1) Paris maker's mark, indecipherable, 2) ox head, Paris mark of charge under Julien Berth, 1750-1756, 3) crowned italic K, warden's mark for 1750-1757; On rims of both covers marks struck twice: 4) eagle's head with single outline, Paris mark for gold, restriced warranty, 1838-1847, 5) anvil, or reverse, mark, struck at same time as 4.
