Blouse with Figures and Sceneries

This women's blouse, which originates from India, features embroidered beige patterns of horses, geese, chickens, bamboo, and other lively imagery on a purple weft knitted gauze background. The small measurements of the blouse suggest that it was made for a young girl. After weaving in three or more odd-numbered plain wefts, the strands of bound warp and ground warp thread are twisted once, creating gauze with holes arranged horizontally across the surface, called weft knitted gauze.
