Ceramicist Michal Fargo started practicing professionally in 2011, sculpting a successful
career that has taken her from from Israel to Germany , Australia and the United Kingdom.
After receiving the prestigious Clore Foundation & Bezalel Academy scholarship to attend London’s Royal College of Art, she established her own studio in Neukolln, Germany.
The search for a visual vocabulary that can
enunciate abstract emotions is condensed into
this velour-coated vessel. Taking cues from manmade formations and fossilised geology,
this Ceramic vase also becomes an introspective interrogation about authenticity. Sculpted from stoneware clay and then coated with deep
blue fibres, Fargo forces a fusion of the
natural and synthetic. The result is a soft
yet striking, celebratory statement
that serves to translate feelings that
refuse to be confined by the limited
dimensions of words.
