"I learned to sew at the age of nine. My teacher taught not only skills, but also a love and respect for fine workmanship. As an adult, I returned to my love of fabric and construction through quilting. I made my first quilt in 1984 and began machine quilting about 1986. Some of my teachers were Harriet Hargrave, Debra Wagner, and Diane Gaudynski. 'Blueberry Morning' took about six months to complete, roughly 500 hours of work in design, fabric selection, construction, and quilting. It is typical of many of the elements I love. It is a multi-fabric quilt and contains extensive quilting. The quilting designs are original and specifically designed for this quilt."
