Mr. BMX has work all over Montpellier, but this work in particular is located in Le Marais, a historic area of Paris known for its growing gay presence. Mr. BMX's work is always site specific, dealing directly with the urban landscape. He is incredibly discrete when he works, assuming the role of a construction worker by wearing a reflective vest, and primarily working during daytime hours. His installation method is remarkably simple: he fills the cut frame of a child's BMX bike with a chemical sealant, which when dry is harder than cement, and then adds a fixation bar. This is subsequently inserted into holes he drills in the wall.
