The mythological creature Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch, has become a part of American popular culture. Claimed sightings and found footprints date back to the late 19th century. The creature's notoriety crested during the later 20th century when there were an increase in the number of claimed sightings and several televised documentaries on the subject. Milton Bradley Company took advantage of the trend and produced a quirky board game in 1977, complete with a very genial figure of Bigfoot on the game box cover, playing the game with children. In the game, players must take the part of the creature when they land on a certain space and then "stomp" over the game board and opponents pawns with a large Bigfoot figure. If the figure leaves a footprint on a pawn, it is out of the game.
