Games take many forms. Competitive games often require serious thought and strategy or quick reflexes and dexterity. Party games, such as charades and Apples to Apples, still have a competitive edge, but tend to emphasize teamwork, entertainment, and humor. Carnival Wheel, a party game introduced by Milton Bradley in 1973, captured the excitement of the carnival midway, complete with sound effects such as the clicking of the game wheel and the "oohs" and "ahs" of the crowd when the wheel stops.
