In 1983 Cinematronics released the game Dragon's Lair for arcade games, created by animators Rick Dyer and Don Bluth. The series is famous for its western animation-style graphics and convoluted decades-long history of being ported to many platforms and being remade into television and comic book series. The game utilized laserdisc technology, and Loffered greatly superior graphics compared to other video games at the time.Like many other early arcade games from this era, Dragon's Lair inspired a licensed board game interpretation, made by Milton Bradley Company in this case. In spite of a clever changeable board game surface, the board game found mostly unfavorable reviews.
