Most historians agree that the so-called Second Industrial Revolution occurred between the years 1840 and 1870. During and after this time more and more Americans became urban dwellers by necessity. But real or imagined memories of a happier, agrarian, and rural past seemed to haunt many who may have been faced with dirty, crowded, or otherwise uncomfortable city living conditions. What could be more wholesome than a game that mentioned such activities as playing with the chickens, fruit picking, and catching butterflies?
