McLoughlin Brothers board game Tiger Hunt demonstrates an unusual example of game manufacture. The game box cover is marked for both McLoughlin Brothers and for Chaffee & Selchow, with a date of 1899. Chaffee & Selchow was essentially a "jobber" manufacturer. In other words, the company assisted with production games already licensed by other firms. One other copy of Tiger Hunt exists in the museum collection, marked for McLoughlin only. Chaffee & Selchow often produced game box covers notable for the use of strong gold outlines of figures and letters. This example demonstrates that design feature. Tiger Hunt is a race and strategy game.
