An early copyright date of 1877, on McLoughlin's combination game board, demonstrates the enduring popularity of two games. Both checkers and backgammon, as well as a game called Tousel, made this game especially fun. Enclosed in a slip case, the game board folds out and the implements are all housed inside. Many manufacturers produded combination games; doubtless consumers thought them better bargains.
