In 1937, just as much as in contemporary times, Americans were fascinated by films and movie stars. In an attempt to capitalize on this, The Whitman company produced a bingo game in which a spinner provides the next letter of the alphabet, and the winner is the player who spells out two Hollywood movie stars' last names first. The bingo cards are full of star names from the late 1930s.
