Huckleberry Hound was a cartoon character--a bright blue dog--designed by the Hanna-Barbera production team. The character was portrayed as a soft-spoken and good hearted simpleton, who spoke with a Southern drawl. He somehow always managed to get out of the scrapes or tight spots within his cartoon's plots by sheer dumb luck or perseverance. The cartoon won an Emmy award in 1960 for "outstanding children's programming." Milton Bradley company paid a fee to make a very simple children's board game based on the personable pooch in 1959.
