Few board games, during the late 19th century, varied much from established and recognized game forms. Even though McLoughlin Brothers marked "Hunting the Tiger" as "A New Game," it follows the method of other hunting strategy race games. More interesting, perhaps, is the re-use of the box cover image. McLoughlin used the tiger and elephant design theme on several of its own versions of Parcheesi box covers.
