In 1987 entrepreneur Phil Falone set out to design a finance-based board game that was fun and instructive to play. The result was Mega Merger: The Strategic Game of High Finance Industry Control. With the help of his family, he assembled the game in his home and essentially manufactured and marketed it himself. He even took his game to New York's ToyFair in 1988. Falone did achieve some measure of success selling his game, and it can still be found for sale today, more than twenty years later.
