In 1971, brothers Fran and Bryce Patch started their own commercial printing company in Beloit, Wisconsin. They built their business by printing products for other companies, including Trivial Pursuit game boards and Cabbage Patch doll sticker books. The company built success upon success in the years following--both designing its own successful game line and acquiring other well-known brands and/or distributorships such as Smethport Specialty Co, known for its famous Wooly Willy toys and the Lauri brand (known for soft foam toddler puzzles.)

Perfect Sense is the title of a recent successful Patch game, based on a system of clues to an answer printed on cards. The clues each pertain to one of the five senses, as in "I have no smell," and "The only rock you'll ever eat," relating to salt, which is the answer.
