Among toy designers, Susan McKinley Ross stands out. Her games are characterized by bright colors and bold, but simple designs. Many feature new wrinkles on classic examples. Her game Quirkle became Amazon's best-selling game in 2010, winning Germany's Game of the Year award as well. Susan formed her own company, Idea Duck, and through it licensed over thirty products, including nine games. Ross won an Excellence in Game Design award at the 2011 Toy and Game Industry Expo.
