Board game:Sorry!

Parker Brothers introduced the game of Sorry in 1934, a popular game still available today. The board game derives from a long line of ancestors. The Game of India, also known as Pachisi, has been played all over the world, spread from the country of its origin by the British who colonized the subcontinent and transported the game to their other colonies. In England, the game was called Ludo. In the United States, Selchow & Righter bought the rights to the game from Albert Swift in 1867 and called it Parcheesi. Variations of the game have appeared as Home and Pollyanna, as well as Sorry. In Sorry, players vie to be the first to move their four pieces around the game board and reach the safety of home. Should one piece land on a square occupied by an opponent, the opponent's piece is bumped back to the beginning. The bumper's polite "Sorry" gives the game its name.
