"Starsky & Hutch" was a police thriller television series that aired for four seasons from 1975 until 1979, when it went into syndication. Though scripts tended to be formulaic, the friendly relationship of the two policeman protagonists was considered somewhat new to television, and the program was quite popular. Milton Bradley produced a "detective" board game based on the series in 1977. Players "solve" crimes by collecting cards marked for a specific criminal. So the game's mechanics are essentially those of a race game, not a game of true deduction.
