The game of Stratego, introduced by Milton Bradley in 1961, bore similiarities to Le Choc of the early 20th century and International Spy from the 1940s. Each of the games equips two players with playing pieces of various values. The object in Stratego is to capture the opponent's flag, while avoiding destruction by the opponent's bombs, spy, and higher ranking soldiers. The game has remained in production since the 1960s. It appears on the Toy Manufacturer's Association's list of classic toys.
