The game producers called "The Weekend Farmer" found success with their first board game, The Farming Game, first made in 1979. The game has gained a following in the intervening years. The complicated rules of play, which parallel running an actual farm in Washington State, made the game something of an American version of a Euro-style strategy game. As with any real farm, it all comes down to assets. The winner has the most at the end.
