Board game:The Game of Advance and Retreat

McLoughlin Brothers apparently marketed the game "Advance and Retreat" with two separate, and completely different, box cover designs. This example bears an image of Santa Claus, over children in a goat-drawn cart. The design likely appealed to both girls and boys. The other version, with a western theme, likely appealed more to boys alone. The game inside each box is exactly the same. Opponents work towards a center space marked "town."
