Board game:Through the Locks to the Golden Gate

Milton Bradley Company's board game "Through the Locks to the Golden Gate" dates from the early 20th century. Probably published after 1914, when the Panama Canal opened, the game's board shows the canal and players compete to race through it. The "Golden Gate" refers to the California strait of that name, not the bridge spanning it, completed in 1937.
