Board game:Tug of War

During the late 19th century, game makers Chaffee & Selchow produced many game box cover designs featuring children at play. The firm's "Tug of War" game is a great example. This example lacks its playing pieces, but the game board is fixed to the inside box bottom and the instructions are printed inside the cover. The cover demonstrates a familiar tug of war game, pitting boys against girls.
