Containing a rich history dating back to ancient times, board games delight children and adults alike with their playful nature. Though these games come in a wide variety of topics and themes, many games connect with the culture of their times. Wealth accumulation games reflect the growth of a consumer society, war games re-create familiar battles, and educational games prepare children for school and work. Popular television shows, films, books and other entertainment media also find their way into board games, allowing players to actively participate in their favorite fictional worlds.

This board game is styled to resemble the films of Alfred Hitchcock, a British director and producer who created over 50 films in his lifetime. Considered a pioneer in the suspense and physiological thriller genres, Hitchcock's films are noted for their unique camera usage, which allowed viewers to feels as though they were looking through the eyes of the characters. This created an extra level of fear and anxiety during already nerve-wracking scenes. Most Hitchcock films included dark mystery elements, along with violence, murder, and a deep mental analysis of the characters. Some sort of twist or surprise ending was also common. In this board game, players must investigate the mysterious disappearance of six men and women in an apparently haunted house.
