Milton Bradley himself began his career as a printer and the game company he later founded was known for utilizing United States and world maps in many different games over the ensuing years. The rival firm Parker Brothers was less likely to use maps in the games it published, but certainly made a few such games. In the middle 20th century it produced the Wide World Air Travel game, perhaps inspired by how popular world travel by air had become. The game features a large and detailed world map as its playing board.
