The winged altarpiece from Boeslunde Church in West Zealand. The altarpiece is of Norh German manufacture, c 1425. Altarpieces of the 15th. And 16th centuries were large cabinets with up to three pairs of wings, which could be opened and closed to coincide with the ecclesiastical calendar.
