Bongseonsa Temple was built with the purpose of honoring King Sejo who is buried nearby. This photo was included in the General Status of Gwangneung Experimental Forest (光陵試驗林の一般), which was published by the the Japanese Government-General of Korea. The temple was severely damaged during the Korean War (1950-1953), and rebuilt afterwards.
