Bonnet made from 'bonnet board' a thick card made from linen rag pulp paper, impressed with a woven pattern and varnished to resemble straw. The paper was cut and sewn into shape and then trimmed with blue silk satin ribbon. This bonnet, and other pieces from the family, were passed down over the generations to museum founder Jonathan Walford in about 1981.
