This book chest is designed for a scholar's study, and is shaped like a wardrobe. The hard frame is made of wild walnut, and the boards are made of Korean pine. Singed wood was rubbed with rice straw to give it color. The lock in the center alone is not enough to fasten the long door, therefore a small fastening brass stick was added.
