Booklet from Dartington Hall Gardens, Devon

A booklet from Dartington Hall Ltd, in Devon, titled 'Gardens, What they should do and how they are Made'. Dartington's owners the Elmhirsts, began modernising the Victorian garden in 1920s, commissioning the American designer Beatrix Farrand to create designs. She was followed by the British designer Percy Cane worked on the gardens until the 1960s, incorporating statues commissioned by the Elmhirsts.
