These three designs are for personalised bookplates for the artist Frank Brangwyn, each incorporating painters palette and paintbrush motifs. Frank Brangwyn was a close friend of Mackmurdo, and began his career as an apprentice draughtsman at Morris & Co. in the 1880s. Together they founded the William Morris Gallery's collection, presenting large gifts of 19th and 20th century art and design.
