A typical product of many of Australia’s Aboriginal populations, though not all, boomerangs have various functions. Although they are usually used as throw weapons to hunt birds and small mammals, they also serve as multifunctional tools used for cutting, digging, and rebuilding. Among populations of central and northern Australia, boomerangs are also used as musical instruments to accompany moments of dancing and singing.
