The bowl is painted in polychrome lustre colours achieved by using silver, copper and sulphuric oxides. It is decorated with laurel leaves on the rim and a geometric pattern with dots. The design reflects the connection of early lustre pottery with glass as motifs reflect those on late antique glasswork. Abbasid period. From Iraq, 9th-10th c. D 21.7 cm (ΓΕ 467)
