Bowl having a flared mouth and a small circular base is a very good example of jade carving of 18th century. The outer surface of the bowl is decorated with stylized flower pattern. Floral pattern is artistically inlaid with gold wires and precious stones. With other arts and crafts the jade carving art also got the state patronage during the Mughal rule especially of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The Mughal emperors were fond of having meals in such jade vessels, as one can often see in the Mughal miniature paintings.
