This conical bowl, probably from the city of Nishapur, has been painted with a clay-based slip and decorated in cream and brown glazes, then covered with a colorless lead glaze. It is an example of so-called Sari ware, which often has a circle of black dots at the rim and a central bird. In this case, the central figure is a horned antelope, with a small bird placed beneath. The small white dots of slip are also typical of Sari ware.
