Box of matches

This box of matches with a miner's motif was manufactured in the Saarland. From 1947 to 1959, the Saarland had its own "Zündwarenmonopol" (translated Monopoly for Safety Matches), the "saarländische Zündwarenregie". These were primarily manufactured in Saarlouis-Fraulautern.
