The Victoria and Albert Museum
London, United Kingdom

The firm which made this bracelet was founded by Gaucher and Tonnelier in 1859. Gaucher became sole partner until joined by Léon Gariod in 1875. Gariod, in his turn, became sole partner from 1884. He specialised in making articulated bracelets and matt gold chains decorated, as here, with gem stones.
