Bracelet

Jules Wièse was a goldsmith from Germany who worked in Paris and, around the mid-19th century, collaborated closely with François-Désiré Froment-Meurice, the "Cellini of the 19th century". In conjunction with the sculptor James Pradier, Wièse designed a bracelet that is a perfect example of Romanticist ideas reified in jewellery: surrounded by a luxuriant array of flowers and leaves, two silver woman figurines hold the little casket in the centre, designed for accommodating a small object.
