Both the bracelet and the previously-mentioned brooch were given to Wilhelmina by her husband, Walther von Hallwyl, on Christmas Eve 1866. He had bought the stones in October that year and had them mounted in gold by the jeweller C. Prost in Vevey, Switzerland.
The wide bracelet is eye-catching and Wilhelmina always wore it on its own, although until the middle of the 1800s, bracelets had always been worn in pairs.
