Brajendra Nath Seal, Prof. of Philosophy, University of Calcutta introduced Prasanta Chandra to actual statistical analysis for the first time.

Famous philosopher and versatile scholar. He was Professor of Philosophy at Calcutta University during 1912-1921 and Vice Chancellor of Mysore University during the period 1921-30. He encouraged Prasanta Chandra to take up the study of statistics.
