The bronze globe stands on three legs in a semicircle and can turn around. Along the diameter there is a band with 72 degrees marked and the astrological names in a numbered code on it. Five equal groupings of 360 degrees are also marked on the band. The globe is made so that it can show both the zodiacal months and the constellations. The surface of the globe is divided into twelve longitude sections representing the lunar months and/or the space between each longitude, a 30-day month. In the southern hemisphere the name of the maker and date in numbered code is written as "Abdollah Molla Badi'-oz-Zaman 535 AH.”
