Parallelepiped-shaped brazier, standing on four legs, each with a hole at the top, from where a circular ring hangs. The sides are formed by two parallel cross pieces on each side, to which are riveted motifs of pairs of opposing spirals that stem from a vertical axis with lanceolate ends. It may be a type Romanesque in origin, or even earlier, spread around Southern Europe, which remained in use during the 14th and 15th centuries, as we can see from numerous iconographical sources, including the Nativity scene on the altarpiece from the parish church of Montanyana, painted by Pere Garcia de Benavarri during the second half of the 15th century. The purpose of braziers was to heat the liturgical space or to keep the fuel for the censers alight.
