The costume of Trikeri has two fine white calico chemises and up to 13 petticoats, the main ones being the “kolovoli” and the “mallina”. The ‘good’ outermost chemise is made of linen or silk, in white, blue, crimson, brown or green, and is adorned with gold or multicoloured embroidery. The dress is richly pleated, sleeveless and short, and the hem is often ornamented. Round the waist is a very wide gold-embroidered belt fastened with large clasps, the “klidotaria”. Tucked into the belt is a white or floral or gold-embroidered handkerchief, the “mandili tou korfou”. The costume includes two pieces of jewellery: the pectoral cross and the “kosses me ta klonia kai ta koumbia”, which are silver ornaments for the plaits.
