Bridle Ornament

Sioux. Loom woven, glass seed bead bands backed w/ white cotton: cheek straps & brow band. Design: white ground; star & flag motif in red/blues/green pink/yellow/turquoise & faceted silver. Clear bead loops w/a center brass(?) bell hang from brow band Bells were painted red/pink/turquoise. At the join are doubled red satin ribbons held by a silver- colored, non-ferrous disc. Magenta ribbons & disc on ends of side pieces. Leather ties on reverse.
