In 1950, Salahov graduated from the Surikov Institute, where he taught since 1975 after nine years of work in the Azerbaijan State Institute of Aliyev. The peak of his popularity came at the end of 1950 - beginning of 1960, when Salahov was among the best artists of the Soviet "thaw" and became one of the founders of the "severe style" in painting. Since 1997, he is vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts, and from 1992 - the vice-president of the International Federation of Artists (IFA).

Tair Salakhov is a virtuoso master, he vividly reflects real life. "Bright Morning" is part of the well-known series from the 1980s painted from the verandas of Salakhov’s dacha at different times of year and under different lighting. In this image we see rays of the summer sun bursting through the wide-open balcony door, filling everything with morning light. Salakhov draws against the light, which enables him to focus on the important details of space, and precisely convey the texture of the backlit materials. The active colors, combining bright shades of yellow, red, white and green, suggest a painting in a major key, and the alternation of sunlight and shadow, light and dark in the compositional layout of the painting, introduce a note of solemnity into this scene of everyday life.
