Bristowe Hat

There is a legend that this hat once belonged to King Henry VIII, and there's evidence to suggest this could be true. In this video, our curator and conservator discuss the hat's history and provenance, as well as its materials and craftsmanship, to examine the truth of this claim. The Bristow hat is one of the rarest and most unusual objects in HRP dress collection. There's no doubt that this is an old, fragile and important item, and in remarkably good condition, making it a treasure within our collections.
