From its maiden flight in 1969 until retirement in 2003, the Concorde was the world’s fastest commercial airplane, with speeds of 1,350 miles per hour (2,170 kmh). On February 7, 1996, British Airways G-BOAD (also known as Concorde Alpha Delta) made the world’s fastest transatlantic crossing, completing the flight in only two hours, 52 minutes and 59 seconds. This airplane is now displayed at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
This is a British Airways uniform jacket worn by a flight engineer on Concorde. The chest pocket has a patch depicting the flight engineer insignia.
