The British Steam Locomotive “DUBS” belonged to Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro and was used briefly for cargo transportation, but was originally designed and acquired to be a “shunting locomotive”, with the function of maneuvering wagons and assembling trains on the railway.
.
In Brazil, steam locomotives were better known as “Maria Fumaça”, a name attributed due to the great smoke and soot that was ejected from its chimney.
