São Paulo, Brazil

The British Steam Locomotive “DUBS” belonged to Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro and was used briefly for cargo transportation, but was originally designed and acquired to be a “shunting locomotive”, with the function of maneuvering wagons and assembling trains on the railway.⁣
.⁣
In Brazil, steam locomotives were better known as “Maria Fumaça”, a name attributed due to the great smoke and soot that was ejected from its chimney.⁣
