At half past eleven, the funeral procession with T. G. Masaryk’s coffin arrived in front of the parliament (today’s Rudolfinum) to the tolling of bells. The coffin was surrounded by soldiers from all six nationalities in the First Republic: Czech, Slovak, German, Ruthenian, Hungarian and Polish. From there, the voice of the radio reporter, Vladimír Müller, could be heard from the terrace of the Faculty of the Arts. The lens did not capture that, however. The photograph that you are looking at is a photomontage of some skill for the given period. It was used to promote one of the biggest news events ever covered by Radiojournal.
